A Walkabout in Toronto

For the last two days I’ve been back in the city I first lived in when I moved to Canada from Connecticut.

My first experience after arriving the night before was a lunch with Dave Pollard, followed by the gracious gift of an afternoon of his time. We spoke about entrepreneurship and his intentions to offer his magnificent gifts to people who want to make a difference and make a living whilst making a difference, and about blogging (of course) and personal productivity software.

Thank you very much, Dave. Your time and wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Immediately after meeting with Dave, I met up with Inspector Lohmann, a new and IMO brilliant blogger (and human being;-). I am looking forward to building a growthful friendship with him. Welcome to Canada, and may you and your family enjoy and prosper, in this marvelous multi-cultural country of ours.

Today I walked up Yonge Street to Bloor, over to Spadina Ave. through Chinatown and Kensington market, over to Tucows, the builders of Blogware, and met up with Joey de Villa, the Accordion Guy. We looked at the new blogging add-in I am involved in building, which offers visual, associative “rapid-assembly publishing” (RAP).

It was astonishing to realize that I heard more foreign languages than I did English, and to realize, time and again, that in Toronto a Caucasian is truly a visible minority, so to speak … and all these people from all sorts of different places and culures all seem to blend and flow together and separately. How great is that ?

Back to Vancouver tomorrow … mountains, ocean, sunshine and a different but also great mix-up of cultures, languages and backgrounds.
